Code of Conduct

The Localism Act 2011 requires the Council to adopt a Code of Conduct for Members that is consistent with the following general principles of public life: selflessness, honesty and integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness and leadership.  Hayle Town Council also expects its Members to observe the following principles: personal judgement, respect for others, duty to uphold the law and stewardship.

Confidence in local democracy is a cornerstone of our way of life. It can only be achieved when elected and co-opted members of local authorities are seen to live up to the high standards the public has a right to expect from them.
